Sometimes you just want something simple and easy, but yet tasty and filling when looking for a snack. Coffee for me can be just as much of a snack, as something crunchy or salty. I can make it in just a few minutes, or for more of a treat I can make something that’s a little more latte-ish. Many times a good cup of coffee can even be just as good as dessert.
I want to help you take your coffee snacking to the next level with a recipe that I found via the Bulletproof Exec called bulletproof coffee. If you want to make true bulletproof coffee I encourage you to buy the coffee from Bullet Proof Exec due to what they call “Low Micro-toxins” in the coffee. I haven’t actually made the purchase of this coffee, but I will one day, but in the mean time this type of coffee is not only super tasty but it’s a meal in a cup.
So hear are the basics.
- Take 2 cups of freshly brewed coffee. If possible find one that’s been processed via water processing.
- 2 tbs of Kerygold Unsalted Butter (or other grassfed butter)
- 30 Grams of MCT Oil ( I use Coconut Oil which is largely MCT oil)
- Toss in a blender and and blend. It will turn out like a nice frothy latte.
I will warn you that if you don’t blend it, the coffee isn’t as desireable.
Also I will sometimes add a little stevia. I understand this may or may not negate some of the health benefits of the coffee, but it is tasty, and relatively healthy.
This would make for post dinner dessert, or even skip breakfast and have this instead. I am telling you this is one cup of coffee that isn’t something that you would naturally think you would like, but you’ve got to give it a try it.
